New Mood and Feeling Good

New MOOD is a proprietary blend of 5-HTP, L-Tryptophan, niacin, magnesium, Vitamin D3, chamomile, Vitamin B6, Passion root, Valerian Root, Lemon Balm and Jujube seed extract.  What makes you feel so good and carry an elevated mood is the neurotransmitter serotonin.  This supplement contains 5-HTP and L-Tryptophan which happen to be the precursor molecules of serotonin.  Taking this supplement will boost your production of serotonin allowing for a sense of well being.  Vitamin B6 is a cofactor that is necessary for the production of serotonin from its precursors.  Serotonin is also used to make the hormone/neurotransmitter melatonin which the brain uses to relax you and put you to sleep.

The reasons for supplementing with precursors is that serotonin can't pass the blood-brain-barrier however 5-HTP and L-Tryptophan can making them readily available for conversion.  Serotonin is responsible for making you feel good, control appetite and promotes healthy sleep states.  A deficiency in serotonin causes depression and insomnia.  Many drugs have been developed to combat this deficiency such as antidepressants, antipsychotics and anxiolytics.  Wouldn't be nice to take an all natural and safe product to give you that lift you need.  New MoodTM was formulated to do just that.

Serotonin is a monoamine biochemically made from L-Tryptophan.   Evolution has made this system somewhat complex as there are a number of serotonin receptors all doing different functions.  This came about by gene duplications and mutations over time.  One receptor is attached to an ion channel that allows calcium, potassium and sodium ions to flow through creating an excitatory response to occur.  The other 7 subreceptor types are not channels and activate internal molecular pathways.  Serotonin is removed from the synaptic cleft by way of an uptake channel by a transporter. This uptake mechanism is often the target of various drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).  This allows for serotonin to remain in the synaptic cleft longer increasing signal strength.

The other serotonin receptors are involved in a number of other functions.  In particular, different receptors cause the releasse of a wide range of neurotransmiiters such as glutamate, GABA, dopamine and acetylcholine along with a number of hormones including cortisol and substance P (pain).  This orchestrated process affects behaviors such as appetite, different aspects of memory, sleep and cognition.

With all these receptors types and activation of internal chemical pathways, its not surprising that serotonin controls a number of behaviors.  A deficiency of this transmitter has serious repercussions.  Most of the cells in the brain are influenced by serotonin direcdtly or indirectly.  So, it is important to keep as much of this around as possible.

L-Tryptophan is readily available in the diet however 5-HTP is only made in our brains.  Nevertheless, you may not be getting enough L-Tryptophan and supplementation can help with that.  In fact, L-tryptophan happens to be an essential amino meaning that your body can't make it.  So it becomes paramount that you get it in your diet and/or supplemntation.  Without enough L-Tryptophan you end up with a serotonin deficicit that brings about depression, obesity, insomnia, lack of cognition and more.

New MOOD has you covered.  This supplement contains the precursors you need with a wide variety of botanicals, Vitamin D3 and B vitamins along with magnesium.  The B vitamins are required for serotonin production and magnesium is a cofactor on some enzymes and it also helps to maintain membrane potention.  Magneisum is required to transport substances in and out of the cell as well.  If you are experiencing mood swings, depression, over eating and having memory problems, the ingredients in this supplement are known to increase memory, control appetite, provide a sense of well being and help you sleep better.
