ShroomTECH Immune by Onnit
The New Food-Based Shroom TECH Immune
At the core of the New Shroom TECH Immune is the same proprietary micronized medicinal mushroom blend, Immune Assist™. This combination of cordyceps, reishi, maitake, and more has been micronized to optimize absorption and contains potent beta glucans that help stimulate a positive immune response from the body. Immune Assist is currently being studied in a variety of clinical applications. Rounding out the mycological profile, we have included Chaga mushroom, one of the most well respected traditional immune stimulating mushrooms in the world, and a personal favorite of Joe Rogan.
What is different about the new Shroom TECH Immune, is a decision to move entirely to food based supplements to round out the formula. This effectively extends the recommended upper limit to allow for clinical strength servings as well as extensive daily use. The combination of Turmeric with 95% curcuminoids, Astragalus, Lemon Peel, Oregano Leaf, and Ginger create a powerful well rounded tonic to help provide the body with key nutrients to face a variety of immune challenges.
How Mushrooms Can Help The Immune System
Mushrooms are traditionally prized for both the nutritional value and composition of biologically active compounds believed to stimulate the immune system. Beta-glucans are high molecular weight polysaccharides that activate natural killer cells, T-cells, B-cells, neutrophils, and cell-mediated immune responses [source]. The structural configuration, glucoside linkages, and molecular mass of these mushroom specific compounds are recognized as foreign bodies by immune cell receptors, initiating a cascade of events that elevates the production of both innate and adaptive immune cells [source]. Beta-glucans have been shown to bind to the Decin-1; a receptor present on surface of macrophages, neutrophils and some T-cells; promoting phagocytosis and further activation of immune response pathways [source]. Immune Assist™ contains over 200 highly-purified, high molecular weight polysaccarides derived from 100% USDA Certified Organic, Certified Kosher, non-GMO mushroom species that include: Agaricus blazei, Cordyceps sinensis, Grifola frondosa (Maitake), Ganoderma lucidum (Reishi), Coriolus (Trametes) versicolor, and Lentinula edodes. Elevation of the body’s natural form of defense with a blend of these highly functional foods can assist the body with lasting vitality and health. For more information on Immune Assist™, click here.

Chaga mushrooms are cultivated in cold climates and have a history of use that dates back to the 16th century. The slow growing fruit bodies from chaga mushrooms reside on bark of birch trees and have a charcoal appearance due to the high content of melanin. Chaga mushrooms contain a high density of antioxidants, phytosterols, and polysaccharides that contribute to modulating immune function [source]. Chaga uniquely contains a safe and ingestible form of betulinic acid, a cytotoxic agent typically present in birch bark that induces apoptosis and anti-proliferative responses in certain cell types [source]. It is believed the body is helped by the immunostimulatory benefits of Chaga mushrooms due to low molecular weight soluble compounds, as well as the heavier polysaccharides.
Polysaccharide extracts from the root of astragalus have been used as a traditional Chinese health herb to help the body with pharmacological and immunomodulatory optimization. Administration of astragalus polysaccharides may help the body to accelerate the humoral and cellular immune responses, accelerating the production of antibodies and T-cell proliferation [source]. In addition, astragalus has also been shown to help the body provide an additional benefit to athletes. Eight weeks of astragalus supplementation helped reduce fatigue and increase oxygen uptake in trained athletes. Both the immuno-proliferative properties and performance enhancing effects of astragalus support its role as a useful supplement to help the body with optimum cardiovascular and immune function.
Antioxidants and Immune Function
Turmeric has a long history of use in Ayurvedic medicine and has proven to have a number of pharmacological activities. Curcumin is the primary constituent that gives turmeric both its vibrant yellow color as well as its helpful properties to the bodies immune and inflammatory systems. It is believed that curcumin functions by inhibiting cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) to help the body down regulate the inflammatory pathway [source]. Ginger Root extract has also been shown to modulate discomfort and inflammation by a similar mechanism [source]. A comparison study showed that 250 mg of ginger root extract was as effective as another popular treatment in reducing episodic discomfort [source]. Reducing discomfort and inflammation along the intestinal tract fosters a healthy micronutrient environment that may help the body enhance absorption. Increasing intake of antioxidants, such as lemon peel, can create optimal conditions and improve the ability of cordyceps sinensis mushroom (in Immune Assist Micron) to scavenge free radicals [source]. The culmination of nutrition research supports this combination of natural antioxidants with mushroom beta-glucans to help the body fight inflammation and boost immune function.
Shroom TECH Immune compiles a highly potent profile of both traditional and cutting edge immune boosting compounds, some of which are completely unique to fungal species. Immune Assist contains high molecular weight polysaccharides that have immunostimulatory properties, helping to keep the body well-prepared for pathogenic challenges. The addition of Chaga mushrooms and the astragalus herb offer a long history of therapeutic use that is supported by modern scientific research. Combining an antioxidant blend of oregano, turmeric, ginger root, and lemon peel helps the body to reduce inflammation and acts synergistically with mushroom extracts. This unique composition of nutrients in Shroom TECH Immune is designed to be highly beneficial for those who aim to maintain optimum immune function.

Chaga mushroom, found on Birch and other trees in cold climates, has been used in traditional medicine in Russia and other North European countries for generations. Chaga draws nutrients from the tree on which it grows and extracts are typically derived from the inner layers of the bark. The active constituents are thought to be a combination of triterpenes, such as betulinic acid, sterols, and polysaccharides.
Turmeric (95% Curcuminoids)
This super spice has documented use back to 1900 BC for specific internal and external healing properties. Curcumin, the active polyphenol found in the rhizome of the turmeric plant possesses the ability to help the body support healthy immune and inflammation response. It’s also referred to as the “spice of Life” [source]. It is believed that curcumin acts by downregulating the expression of inflammatory cytokines which may help the body with many inflammatory conditions [source].
Indians and Chinese have used ginger as a root tonic for 5000 years to treat many ailments. It was so valuable in the 13th and 14th centuries that a pound of ginger was equivalent to the cost of a sheep [source]. Ginger has also been used for centuries as a mild digestive aid, and to help the body mitigate nausea [source]. Further exploration of this potent plant, has indicated that Ginger may also help the body mitigate discomfort. In a study with 261 patients with osteoarthritis and knee pain, 63% of the subjects using ginger root extract had reduced discomfort while standing [source].
Oregano is an herb touted for both its culinary and therapeutic uses. It represented a symbol of happiness for the Ancient Greeks and Romans. Consuming oregano can provide more antioxidants than many food groups including fruits, berries, cereals and vegetables [source]. Oregano may be useful in helping the body deal with immune challenges [source].
Historically, astragalus root was used by the Chinese for its immuno-stimulating properties. For more on Astragalus.
You’ve probably been throwing away the lemon peel for years. It turns out that citrus fruit peels possess a wide array of antioxidants [source]. Lemon peels contain compounds that can help the body stimulate healthy immune function [source]. Helping the body with sound oral health was also a secondary benefit of lemon peel [source]. In the extract form, a tertiary benefit on assisting the body with mild stress needs further exploration [source].
