Below are some ideas on how to add even more variety and extra nutrition to your protein shakes.
Remember that XBrain’s micellar casein and whey protein supplements are unique in the industry in being clear of refined sugar or artificial sweeteners. You don’t want to negate this by adding these nasty substances to your protein shakes. The recipes below rely on natural fruit to sweeten them.
By using almond or walnut milk your shakes are consistent with a paleo diet. Of course you can substitute grass-fed cow milk if you are not trying to avoid dairy, or even soya milk.
Peanut Butter and Banana Shake
This decadent shake is particularly delicious with XBrain’s chocolate flavour Micellar Casein Supplement, although it will work very well indeed with Vanilla flavour.
- 1 scoop (25g) of XBrain’s chocolate or vanilla Micellar Casein protein supplement
- 250 ml of ice-cold almond or walnut milk
- 1 tbsp of organic peanut butter
- ½ a banana
Combine all the ingredients in a blender until smooth and frothy.
Breakfast Protein Shake with Oats
Many people choose to take their micellar casein supplement in the morning to benefit from its slow release properties throughout the day. By adding some oats and a banana you can turn your protein shake into an excellent breakfast, rich in potassium and other nutrients, which is sure to keep you satisfied until lunchtime!
- 1 scoop (25g) of XBrain’s Micellar Casein supplement, any flavour
- 3 tbsp of jumbo rolled oats
- 250g of almond or walnut milk
- 1 banana
- 2-3 ice cubes
Blend the ingredients until well combined and frothy!
Green Detox Protein Shake
Green vegetables are considered particularly healthy, being especially rich in minerals and bioactive phytochemicals. Many people however don’t enjoy eating leaves! The answer is a green smoothie, famous for its detox properties. This recipe works particularly well with the natural flavour of the protein powder.
- 1 scoop of Xbrain’s Micellar Casein Natural
- 1 bunch of coriander
- 2 cucumbers, peeled.
- 1 bunch of spinach, kale or watercress.
- ½ a ripe avocado
Process all the ingredients together in a blender.
Refreshing Summer Protein Smoothie
Make sure you have a bag of frozen mixed berries in the freezer and you can enjoy this bright summary protein shake, packed with vitamin C, on any day of the year!
- 1 scoop of Xbrain’s Micellar Casein (natural or vanilla flavours)
- 250 ml of orange juice
- 3 handfuls of frozen berries
- A small tub of yogurt
Put all the ingredients in a blender and process until completely combined.
Black Forest Protein Shake
The combination of chocolate and black cherry in a cake is irresistible. Here you can get the same flavours by using chocolate flavour XBrain Micellar Casein and frozen black cherries. Add a tablespoon of XBrain’s premium quality Cacao powder to intensify the chocolaty flavour.
- 1 scoop of XBrain’s Micellar Casein (chocolate flavour)
- 1 tbsp of XBrain’s Organic Cacao Powder
- 250 ml of almond or walnut milk
- 2 handfuls of frozen black cherries
Blend all the ingredients until smooth. Decorate with defrosted cherries if you wish.
Healthy Crave-Busting Pudding
Made with flavour of choice this pudding saves the cravings.
- 3-4 tbsp of Greek Yougurt
- 1 scoop of XBrain’s Micellar Casein (flavour of choise)
- 1/4 – 1/2 cup of milk
- Topping of choice
Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and stir until you reach the consistency of pudding.
Creamy sweet Cheesecake
This rich, creamy cheesecake is a no-fail, crowd-pleasing dessert.
- 1 cup Greek Yougurt
- 3 tbsp of XBrain’s Micellar Casein Vanilla
- 2 tbsp of XBrain’s Whey Vanilla
- 1/2 cup of Milk
Mix everything together, texture of the batter is very creamy. Put the batter in a mold, bake for 25-30 min at 220 degrees Celsius. Allow them to cool and put them several hours in the fridge to firm up.
