As we all know bioperine or piperine is an active ingredient extracted from the plants called as piper nigrum. For simple understanding, it is known as black pepper. Bioperine is a standardized piperine extract obtained from the fruits of the Piper nigrum. These plants are cultivated in the damp, nutrient-rich soil in the  regions of south India, Vietnam, China, Pakistan and other Asian states. The delicate pepper berries are hand harvested just prior to ripening and then sun dried to assure optimum maturity and quality. Different plant extracts and their active ingredients are used as supplements by humans. The plant extracts which are not processed may have lesser shelf life. From previous few years, herbal extracts have gained great popularity amongst the people living in urban areas. A survey finding published in the local heath magazine had few interesting myths about the bioperine. According to the survey most of the people who were suffering from neurodegenerative disorders used bioperine. Secondly, people suffering with arthritis can also use piper nigrum extracts on a regular basis.

After recent researches carried out in different parts of the world, it was reported that many medicinal plants possess profound central nervous system effects and antioxidant activities that can improve the memory performance of an individual. No side effects are reported regarding the use of bioperine. How bioperine enhances the individual performance is not known yet. Further research on the precise underlying mechanism is still required. In clinical research, bioperine showed increased absorption of nutrients. Although this potential increase in the absorption of nutrients, if true, does not clear the fact that how it improves the health of the individual. Individuals who are misusing these supplements have shown no improvement in their health. This means that overdosing or misuse of the bioperine supplements has no effect on the health.
