Just as women go through menopause, men have an equivalent known as andropause. Andropause can actually occur as early as 35 years and in a small percentage earlier than that. As men age their testosterone levels decrease which can affect the quality of life as well as longevity. Symptoms observed include weight gain around the middle, decreases in sex drive, depression, and hair loss.

Some men opt for a testosterone booster by way of prescription testosterone replacement therapy to try to bring about a more youthful state. However, some testosterone replacement therapies can present with unacceptable side effects.  Depending on the type of testosterone therapy, side effects may include mood swings and possible transfer of hormone to those around you.  Onnit T-Plus Testosterone Supplement comes to the rescue. This is a simple and effective way to boost the body’s testosterone levels by using natural compounds that regulate certain steps in the production of testosterone. This testosterone booster uses natural compounds that have been demonstrated to increase testosterone while avoiding the usual side effects of other testosterone supplements.

Onnit T-Plus combines Muncuna pruriens, Eurycoma longifolia (Longjack root), magnesium aspartic acid, and stinging Nettle root to boost testosterone levels. Muncuna has the ability to boost levels of the neurotransmitter dopamine. Eurycoma (longjack) and magnesium aspartic acid boost testosterone levels. Nettle root competes for testosterone binding protein in blood. All of this allows for increased blood testosterone levels.

To further maximize testosterone levels, Onnit T-Plus adds Red clover, luleclin, and resveratrol. Red clover and lutenist inhibit the conversion of testosterone to estradiol. Resveratrol antagonizes estrogen receptors. This keeps the extra testosterone you made free and available. This provides an added testosterone boost.

Onnit hasn’t forgotten the need for amino acids to build muscle and for recovery. T-Plus combines beta-alanine, branched-chain amino acids (BCAA), and L-glutamine. Beta-alanine helps to combat fatigue and enhance performance and BCAAs build muscle.

 Testosterone Supplement Ingredients

Vitamin B5 also known as pantothenic acid is a coenzyme that activates certain enzymes involved with energy production.  B5 is required to make red blood cells, cholesterol, and sex hormones.  Cholesterol is a precursor to making estrogen and testosterone.

Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine HCl)

Vitamin B6 is another coenzyme that is required to run certain metabolic pathways, transport oxygen in blood(hemoglobin production) and make neurotransmitters.  B6 has the ability to activate more than 100 different enzymes and plays a major role in amino acid metabolism and protein synthesis.  It is also required to make the neurotransmitters serotonin, dopamine, histamine, and epinephrine.  B6 is also involved with gene expression, electrolyte balance, and the production of vitamin B3 (niacin).

Onnit Testo Blend™

Magnesium aspartic acid, Mucuna (10:1), Long Jack root (50:1), Nettle root (20:1)

Onnit Testo Blend promotes increased levels of testosterone by combining magnesium aspartic acid, Mucuna, Long Jack, and stinging Nettle root. Magnesium aspartate has been demonstrated to increase testosterone levels by 42 percent in clinical trials.  Mucuna takes a different tack by increasing the production of the neurotransmitter dopamine. Dopamine pathways are involved with locomotor, reward, and libido. Dopamine itself is used for hormone synthesis. Clinical trials have demonstrated the effectiveness of Mucuna. A study done on men with fertility issues reported that Mucuna enhanced their reproductive health by significantly elevating levels of the neurotransmitter dopamine as well as elevating testosterone levels. Long Jack root (Eurycoma longifolia) contains bioactive polypeptides that increase the production of hormone metabolites. Clinical trials on aging males demonstrated a 46 percent increase in testosterone levels after one month of supplementation. It was also observed that these men increased their bone density.  Now that testosterone levels are up, you want to hold on to it. Unfortunately, free circulating testosterone is rapidly bound to its carrier protein in blood which renders the testosterone inactive. This carrier protein is known as Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG). This is where Stinging Nettle root comes in. A component of Nettle root competes for testosterone binding sites preventing testosterone from binding. This allows for more unbound free testosterone in blood to prevail and make it to its target organs such as muscle and bone.

Onnit Anti-Estro Blend™

Red clover (15% isoflavones), Luleclin, Resveratrol

Anti-Estro Blend comes to the rescue to hold on to the extra testosterone you’ve made. Testosterone is actually converted  into estradiol in the body which can lead to hair loss, decreased sex drive, and other feminizing characteristics. Components of Anti-Estro Blend have the ability to block estrogen receptors and inhibit testosterone to estradiol conversion. This promotes higher levels of testosterone. Red clover and luleclin have the ability to inhibit an aromatase enzyme. This is a key enzyme that converts testosterone into estradiol. Resveratrol is known for its powerful antioxidant capability however, it is a powerful antagonist of certain estrogen receptors as well, so resveratrol acts as an estrogen block. Onnit Anti-Estro Blend helps to prevent the unwanted side effects associated with increased levels of testosterone.

Onnit Performo Blend™

Beta alanine, Branched-chain amino acids 2:1:1. L-glutamine

Onnit’s Performo Blend includes beta-alanine, branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) and L-glutamine. Beta-alanine has the ability to buffer muscle tissue during intense exercise keeping normal pH levels which in turn keeps you from getting fatigued. BCAAs provide the amino acids you’ll need to build muscle and decrease the amount of soreness you experience. Onnit Performo Blend is all about building and recovery.

Bioperine is a nutrient absorption enhancer that boosts not only your whole food absorption but your entire supplement regimen.  This a standardized extract of piperine that is taken from black pepper (Piper nigrum). This is a patented supplement that has been demonstrated in clinical trials to increase the bioavailability of nutritional molecules.

Maltodextrin is a polysaccharide that is taken from corn, rice, wheat, and potatoes.  It is isolated from these foods by cooking.  When these foods are cooked the starch they contain breaks down and releases various acids and enzymes. Maltodextrin is isolated from this mash and dried. Although this is a polysaccharide, the bonds between glucoses is weak. This allows for rapid digestion and an increased absorption rate. This provides a quick source of energy when you need it during exercise. Maltodextrin is found in a number foods such as canned fruits, various snacks, sports drinks, and as a filler in artificial sweeteners. This sweetener helps to prevent gastrointestinal upset such as cramping or diarrhea that often accompanies large intake of simple sugars. This polysaccharide increases blood glucose and insulin levels which in turn promotes fast muscle glycogen and protein synthesis.

Onnit’s T-Plus provides a powerful testosterone boost that is enhanced with estrogen blocking agents to increase endogenous testosterone. The botanicals, amino acids, B vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals have been tested in a wide range of athletes that require high performance and endurance. This testosterone boost also provides branched-chain amino acids that promote muscle growth and recovery. Onnit suggests that T-Plus be used as a pre-workout supplement.
